Early Life

  • Xiao Zhan was born in Chongqing, China on October 5, 1991
  • As a child, he enjoyed painting and playing the violin
  • He has no siblings
  • He studied Modern International Art Design Academy at CTBU (Chongqing Technology and Business University)
  • Started a design studio with friends in college doing photography and graphic design

 

Early Career

  • Originally worked as a photographer and graphic designer
  • Competed in the competition show “X-Fire” in order to debut with the boy-band group “X-Nine”.  Although he was not on the winning team in X-Fire, he was still invited to join the group after a fan vote. 
  • Regularly would end up on popular searches for his stylish airport clothing
  • Caught fan’s and director’s attention after acting in historical costume dramas “Oh My Emperor!” and in an X-Nine X-Channel show (episode 7).

  • His fandom name is XFX – Xiao FeiXia (小飞侠) which means Peter Pan. Because of how similar it sounds in Mandarin, his fandom are often called shrimps (小肥虾 – xiǎo féi xiā  -“small fat shrimp”)

Although Xiao Zhan was born in 1991, he did not make his debut in the entertainment industry until 2016, at the age of 25.

X-Nine

Xiao Zhan debuted as part of the 9-member Chinese group “X-Nine” in 2016 as a main vocalist and visual. At the time of debut he was listed as the 8th debut “egg” (see the cute bunny teeth?). 
X-Nine released several successful songs, participated in dramas, and had live concerts.  Xiao Zhan’s first solo single “Satisfied” was released during this time.

Although X-Nine is not currently active, he is still listed as a member of the group.
